Picdar announced today the release of its Media Mogul InDesign plug-in Version 2.0. This powerful software integrates Media Mogul's workflow management tools with InDesign, streamlining the publishing process and significantly reducing the number of steps to produce a complete page layout.
The flexible integration of InDesign with Media Mogul Digital Asset and Workflow Management means users can search and choose content from Media Mogul to include in their layouts without leaving InDesign. Layouts, once completed, can be saved from InDesign back into the Media Mogul repository. Media Mogul is able to simplify and control the full workflow lifecycle, from initial layout creation, review, publication, syndication and lifetime archiving. Assets, including raw images and text, work in progress, completed InDesign page layouts and final PDFs are also protected from loss, damage and inappropriate use.
Following feedback from customer use of the plug-in, version 2.0 has been developed to deliver more sophistication in the searching process and faster saving. At the back-end it uses XML, via Picdar's Web Services Interface, to provide a standard communication channel between Media Mogul and the layout tool. The new release of the plug-in demonstrates Picdar's commitment to providing workflow tools that make a real day to day difference in busy publishing environments.
Andy Heather, CTO Picdar says, "This new release of the Media Mogul InDesign plug-in will deliver real benefits for our customers moving to InDesign. The XML interface back-end ensures that it is a truly flexible and reliable tool."
