Privacy

This is a static publication. There is no account to register, no comment form, no newsletter and no shopping basket, so there is nothing on these pages that asks you for a name, an address or a payment detail. Nothing you do while reading is recorded by us against you.

No analytics and no advertising trackers run on this site. There is no Google Analytics tag, no pixel, no tag manager and no third-party measurement of any kind. The typefaces, the stylesheet, the images and the icons are all served from this domain, which means that loading a page here does not make a request to anybody else’s server and does not hand your IP address to a third party.

This site sets no cookies. Not a necessary one, not a preference one, not one of its own and not one belonging to anybody else, and it writes nothing to your browser’s local storage either. That is also why you are not being asked to agree to anything: a consent banner exists to cover storage that a site actually performs, and there is none here to cover. The pages carry no JavaScript at all beyond the structured-data block that tells a search engine what each page is.

The hosting provider keeps ordinary web server logs — the requested address, the time, the response code, the browser string and the IP address the request came from. These are a by-product of serving the page, are used for security and for diagnosing faults, and are not combined with anything else or used to profile a reader.

If you write to the desk, the message and your address are kept for as long as they are useful for answering you and for the record of a correction. They are not added to a mailing list, not passed to anyone and not sold. Ask and the correspondence will be deleted.

Some pages carry links to other sites, and a few carry an advertising placement. Once you follow such a link you are on somebody else’s site and their privacy terms apply, not these.
